Basque Burnt Cheesecake
The Basque Burnt Cheesecake—a popular treat that can be found in every bakery today. Even for baking novices, it is almost always one of the first go-to recipe nowadays. And just as the name suggests, this cheesecake originated from San Sebastian of the Spanish Basque Country, hence its moniker, the Basque Burnt Cheesecake.
The recipe and the methods are simple and easy, especially at the aid of Boncafé Milky Sauce to provide a rich and smooth flavour to make anyone want to bask in your Basque Cheesecake.
Ingredients
Boncafé Milky Sauce | 75 g. |
Soft Cream Cheese | 350 g. |
Whipping Cream | 50 g. |
Sugar | 50 g. |
Cornstarch | 15 g. |
Eggs | 2 eggs |
Vanilla Extract | 1/2 tsp. |
Method
- 1. Whip the cream cheese until soft.
- 2. Add sugar and cornstarch. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- 3. Add cream and Boncafé Milky Sauce. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- 4. Add the egg, one by one, followed by the vanilla extract.
- 5. Line the mould with greaseproof paper and pour the batter into the mould.
- 6. Place the cake in the middle oven rack and bake at 220 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.
- 7. Move the cake to the top rack and bake for another 10 minutes until the surface is deeply golden brown.
- 8. Remove the cake from the oven and leave to cool outside. Cool in the fridge before serving.
