Bluekoff & Boncafe Host Thailand's La Marzocco Showdown
Join the ultimate coffee competition to find Thailand’s top barista and witness the collaboration between two leading coffee brands.
Thailand’s first collaboration between two large coffee enterprises; Boncafe (Thailand) and Bluekoff Co., Ltd. presents Bluekoff X Boncafe LA MARZOCCO LINEA MINI R SHOWDOWN Thailand Edition, the coffee shots extraction competition featuring the coffee machine, La Marzocco Linea Mini R. Hosted on 11 May 2024, the competition venue was sponsored by The Food School Bangkok. The winner, Chawis Hattaboon, has won the cash prize of 20,000 baht and is the only representative from Thailand to compete in the Southeast Asia competition round in Singapore. The winner also received round-tickets and accommodation and a chance to win the prizes valued 350,000 baht.
The competition is hosted under the concept “Beyond Espresso: The Barista Icon”, presenting the world’s acclaimed coffee-making machine brand La Marzocco with aims to grant opportunities for baristas in Southeast Asia to challenge their barista skills in extracting coffee shots to brew the best cup of coffee ever, as well as showcasing the efficiency of the new La Marzocco Linea Mini R machine.

grow a strong coffee community for brands communication, exchange and offer benefits within the community.”
The exclusive collaboration between “Bluekoff and Boncafe” has introduced the new Special Blend customized for this competition. The beans are the blend of 100% Thai origins and a perfect combination of Arabica Doi Chang in Chiang Rai and Robusta from southern Thailand encompassing the medium to dark roast taste which is suitable for a cup of espresso and renowned for its long-established coffee legacy. The new-bred coffee beans yield the intense flavour along with the coffee roast fragrance and flavorful delicacy as well as the soft creamy mouthfeel.
Distinguished by the blends of chocolate, caramel, and butterscotch flavors, the beans are named “B-Yond Blend” which is inspired by the initial “B” of two brands. The word “Beyond” defines the brands’ ambition to build the ultimate experiences for everyone.

In addition, the competition event also featured La Marzocco Linea Mini R display to the audiences, allowing them to try using the real machine. This new launch of a coffee machine is marked as the iconic espresso maker which has been upgraded from the previous La Marzocco Linea Mini with a new design featuring Della Pietra Curve style and premium quality.
The new feature enhancement includes advanced Shot Timer: the built in timer to help deliver the precise espresso shots; commercial-grade coffee brewing head; double boiler system with P.I.D temperature adjustment on both boilers; self-cleaning function with adjustable duration as desired; brewing timer screen; and Brew-by-Weight connection capability. These new functions are designed to enhance café operation alongside the stylish design and powerful quality performance.
