Boncafe’s Coffee Journey: Behind the Beans 2023

Now in its second consecutive year, the Boncafe Route to Root event, in collaboration with BIG BLACK BOX COMPANY LIMITED, 80 Plus and Bangkok Airways as the main sponsor, provides eligible customers with a comprehensive understanding of the coffee processing procedures, from the initial stages to the final product. The itinerary includes visits to various stages, such as coffee cherry collection, washing, sun-drying, bean roasting, and coffee tasting. This immersive experience highlights the meticulous care and attention to detail exercised by coffee farmers at each step, ensuring the finest quality coffee for consumers.

In addition to offering an exclusive visit for guests, the event emphasises the essential support provided to coffee orchard farmers. For the second year in a row, Boncafe is committed to imparting knowledge and financial assistance to aid in the development of farming practices, fostering sustainability and enhancing production quality for the benefit of end consumers.

Furthermore, Boncafe is forging a collaborative effort between its Product Development team and Thep Sadet coffee farmers to create a unique blended coffee known as “Pang-hi,” comprising 100% Arabica species Progeny 88 and 90. This species is cultivated under the protective canopy of tall trees in lush forests, allowing coffee beans to bask in gentle sunlight, resulting in a complex and distinct flavour profile. The harvesting of coffee cherries is a meticulous, hand-picked process, followed by thorough washing.
